Nick Delahanty, DVM
Nicholas Delahanty, DVM, a general practitioner, joined the Animal Hospital of Pittsford in June 2010. He began working with animals in 2001 as an animal care taker at the Liverpool Health Center in Liverpool, N.Y., before earning his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010 from Kansas State University.
Originally from Astoria, Queens, Dr. Delahanty studied ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Rochester where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2005. In addition to his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Delahanty holds a Certificate in Dentistry from the Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Beyond general practice and dentistry, Dr. Delahanty's professional interests include surgery and pain management.
His love for animals does not end at the clinic doors as he provides a home to a 2-year-old mixed breed named Chester, a 1-year-old Miniature Schnauzer named Kansas, and a 14-year-old cat named Phoebe. During his free time, he is an avid backpacker and enjoys origami, cooking, painting and restoring his historic home in Rochester.
